Hi, I'm Matt, and my family and I reside in Rye, Victoria, along with two cats and two boys. Finley, my eight-year-old oldest child, adores his sport. My father, a longtime professional sports photographer, taught me the art back when movies were still being made. After that, I was a graphic designer until 2010, when I decided to return to photography.
I wasn't really sure what I would do or if it would even be as a job when I got back into photography. I was just aware of its intuitive rightness. I took a ton of landscape photos in and around Melbourne and pestered the family whenever I had the chance. After contacting a few music publications, I was able to secure a few unpaid jobs photographing bands and festivals. Then, in 2010, one of my old friends asked me to photograph his wedding, which at the time felt incredibly daunting. Of course, I agreed to do it. I almost immediately chose to pursue a career as a professional wedding photographer after that wedding, which proved to be a significant turning point.

Shani and I met in high school; yes, we are one of those high school sweethearts that make you want to vomit in your mouth crazy for each other, as one of our good friends likes to refer to us. And yet, it took us an entire seven years before we got married. Why? To be completely honest, we wish we had waited ANOTHER 4 years because, if we had to plan our wedding day all over again, it would have been done very differently. Everyone's timing is different, just like everyone's relationship, just like everyone's wedding day (I'll get back to this topic a little later, I digress). I should thus write a bit about myself. That makes me a little nervous, but I'll do it. I never wanted to attend college; all I wanted to do was explore the world and take pictures. As soon as I graduated from high school, my camera and I traveled to Egypt and Europe. I worked in a one-hour photo lab for my first job in photography twenty years ago, and I really loved it. I became familiar with image editing software when the film industry began to decline. After working in a number of photography studios, I decided I couldn't spend my days in front of a computer, so I established my own company editing photos for other wedding photographers.
